I had hoped this picture would have come out better than it did, this rufous or allen's hummingbird buzzed our lunch spot, perched on a small rock, and then flew away.
The wind gusts were up to atleast 40-50 mph when I took these photos of this bird. Very impressive manuverability!
Have no idea what this plant is, saw a couple of them on our hike up this mountain, no leaves present, large bean pods, flowers present, almost 5 feet tall.
Two for the price of one on this shot! Looks like a small cluster of Mammillaria dioica nestled in there.
Smoke tree possibly?
This guy was very unimpressed with us camping near his foraging grounds.
