Flowering desert broom, Baccharis sarothroides, attracts a lot of foraging insects, so it is a great place for spiders to build their nets.

A paper wasp, Polistes comanchus is about to chase a cactus fly, Odontoloxozus longicornis, away from a wounded Baccharis sarothroides branch oozing delicious sap.
