Description: The California Quail has a mixture of grays, browns, and blues on their body. Their belly is tan with a black scaly pattern. Both sexes have a black bobble on the top of their head. The male’s bobble is bigger then the females.

Habitat: Yards, lawns and open areas with thick edges to hide in.

Fun Facts: The California Quail is found in flocks with a sentry standing guard as the group forages for food. Their call is like an old-fashioned car horn.
