Description: The House Finch is a sparrow-sized bird. The males are brown with deep red to pale yellow chests and heads. The females are a dull brown with a lighter streaked belly. The House Finch is found in small flocks, often around bird feeders.

Habitat: Shrubs and brushy woodlands.
Fun Facts: The House Finch was originally only found on the west coast, but in the 1940’s it was illegally captured and taken to the east coast where it was released. Now the House Finch’s range has spread coast to coast in the United States.
