Our game camera captured this video of a mountain lion in the Mayacamas range near Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. The location is at an old culvert crossing of Pony Gate Gulch, a tributary to Sonoma Creek. The property is an old ranch and old fencing and topography conspire to funnel animals through this spot.
There were actually three individuals captured within a couple of mintues of each other.
Although this and the following tree were both planted by Park staff, it's still pretty interesting to be able to see all three extant Redwood species together in one place.
While I am aware that this is an awful picture of a common phenomenon, I figure that entries from Sutter county are rare enough that they should be made regardless of photographic quality. Seen on the Peace Valley CBC
