What

Plateau Fence Lizard (Sceloporus tristichus)

Observer

msr

Date

August 6, 2011

Description

You can't see it well in the photo because of the unfortunate position of the shadow, but the tail is almost black, with two thick white stripes on it. However, in a close-up it looks like there is an outer layer of scales missing from the tail, so the dark color may simply be uninformative.
