Description

Raspberry bush found on the edge of a stream in multiple locations. This plant is very abundant in low-land forest areas. Wild raspberries are edible, and extremely delicious!

Up in the mountains, this is just emerging in May. In the Puget Sound lowland where I live, this is out in march.

This is along the Lower Elliot Creek portion of the trail

This is a great native plant garden, with the species well labeled. I am trying to learn our different shrubs and seeing this really helped me. It will be worth revisiting over the course of a year.

Description

So just to be clear, this is a wild heron I encountered at the zoo. He was standing in the penguin enclosure probably waiting to steal a fish from the penguins. It was really cool to see him this close though!
