Are some leaves turning colors due to the cold or does this plant just have varied colors in its leaves?
This magnificent oak is actually on the property up the hill from the Meadows Preserve. This photo shows the effects of our long drought --it used to have much, much denser foliage. Very sad--but perhaps with our recent rains, it will recover.
Don't know if these dark rusty=red tufts are naturally that color or are dried out and about to fall off.
Was found on 1/8/17 sleeping under some wood in between rains. 71 degrees and sunny. #3 this year
