Flickr

I got a little tired of seeing "picture not available" here on iNaturalist from my Flickr pictures so I switched them to Picasa. No clue why it does that, but from now on I am putting all my iNaturalist pics on Picasa.

That happens when you do something to change the URLs on Flickr, like uploading a new copy of the photo or changing the privacy. A lot of third party applications like iPhoto or the Flickr Lightroom plugin use this replacement method, by default, which is pretty annoying for us.

Thanks for the information and I thought that might the the problem. I just tested your comments out this morning and updating a photo linked to my blog site was then broken. If manually replacing photos doesn't break the link I suspect that it is more the Flickr API and the way it handles updates (or just the way Flickr works). I use the "jf flickr" plugin by Jeffrey Friedl and many of his other plugins. They all work and links are never broken.Since I quite often revisit some of my older photographs making changes to cropping or add tags Flickr isn't the place for me to use when I want links. I like Flickr but my workflow results in broken links so for now I have no choice.
Thanks again
