Photos / SoundsWhatMountain Lion (Puma concolor)ObserveresophieaDescriptionTrack set in Tucson Mountain Park, at urban interface. Tracks headed down an arroyo, heading northeast. Track age difficult to establish because of the coarse substrate: estimate more than 2 days old, but less than 1 week. I suspect this is the same animal that I observed tracks from, in a nearby arroyo (on the other side of the ridge). Track characteristics were undeniably typical of P. concolor: three lobed plantar pad, asymmetrical toe layout, gap between toes and pad forming the typical "C" shape. |
