Photos / SoundsWhatCrassula sinclairiiObserverpjd1PlaceChatham Islands, Rekohu (Chatham Island), Kaingaroa Farm Station, Hapupu Lagoons (Google, OSM)DescriptionCommon in marginal turf overlying peaty sand exposed by receding water levels at "Hapupu Lagoons". Growing with Callitriche chathamensis, Limosella australis, Potamogeton cheesemanii, Lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae, Myriophyllum triphyllum, Triglochin striata and Isolepis basilaris. Crassula sinclairii is a very uncommon species on the island but of course it is also very small so easily overlooked. The only populations I know of are scattered along the shoreline of Te Whanga and at "Hapupu Lagoons". |

Places occupied are often under water for considerable times during the year. Growing in association with Limosella australis, Callitriche chathamensis, Lilaeopsis noave-zelandiae, Crassula sinclairii, Myriophyllum triphyllum and Potamogeton cheesemanii. This location is the only one I know of for this species on the islands (though it must be elsewhere). It was lats seen at this site in January 2006. So good to know its still there. |
