This frog was found at night in the Amani Mountain Reserve in the East Usambara Mountains. Also found were numerous other amphibian and reptiles species including the endemic caecilian Boulengerula boulengeri, the endemic chameleon Kinyongia tenue, and the endemic Elapid, Elapsoidea nigra.
