Out of curiosity, how do you tell the difference between the two (jubata and selloana)?

It's not easy, and to be honest I don't fully remember. I think selloana is more clump forming than jubata... or maybe I have that the other way around - but I don't think I can tell them apart from those photos. Both are invasive introduced plants, so most people don't distinguish, though perhaps they have somewhat different ecological niches and growth forms.

Well I really appreciate the ID. Wish I was seeing more native things on my travels, but ah well. It's nice to know what I've been seeing!
