a trio of cuttlefish. Small, medium, and big. The medium sized one kept trying to get between the other two. (alternative reproductive tactics?).

If your original picture shows good detail around the eyes, look for a yellowish margin -- if so, it's likely Sepia latimanus according to Humann/Deloach in Reef Creature Identification - Tropical Pacific.
