I was leading a birdwatching trip in the El Triunfo cloud forest of Chiapas, Mexico, when we discovered this unfamiliar green alligator lizard. The only way I could get photos of it was to have someone hold one of its legs while I took shots, thus I have no image of the whole animal. This animal was identified from my photos by herpetologist Dr. Jon Campbell at the University of Texas at Arlington.
