This is part of what makes this genus tricky: this matches the description of C. ambigua pretty well, but the habitat is all wrong (this was in a grassy field growing while C. ambigua grows in wet coastal areas), and it was growing among many white-and-purple lookalikes. Hence, C. densiflora.
