Description

Spotted two Brood V cicadas in the parking lot of a small office park on a sunny, warm afternoon. The first one was seen around noon, the other one seen around 12:40 pm.

Took both home for photos and to put into the bug collection.

I did not hear any cicadas calling. Saw one other cicada wing, but there was no sign of additional cicadas. So didn't seem like a big cicada area. Maybe these two just blundered into the area?

My ID is based on ventral colors on abdomen, and orange spots on thorax behind eye.
