Description

Tule elk are native to the area around California's Central Valley; one herd was introduced in the Owens Valley and seems to be doing well, at least with the benefit of these alfalfa fields.

iNat mammals are linked to IUCN which still doesn't recognize Cervus canadensis - but I agree its Tule Elk!

yeah, that is the only name I could get to work... definitely a tule elk as it is a known managed herd...
