I'm not so sure. Does the eastern race also have the breast stick-pin? It looks like it does and your photo shows a dark mark higher than I would expect

Song Sparrows typically have a dark-brown spot, within the striping of the upper breast but still well below the chin. We/I have often heard it referred to as a stick-pin as in stick-pins that men used to wear in their ties.(when men wore ties and used either tie-clips or tie-tacks to keep the tie from flapping around.)
