These flowers were mostly just budding in the Alaka'i Swamps in Waimea Canyon. Not entirely sure what it is, but it was cool looking.

I think this is in the subfamily Lobelioideae, which has undergone a very recent adaptive radiation in Hawaii-- c. 120 species in only 13 million years (according to the work of Thomas Givnish and colleagues).
