Hangs of branches far from the ground. Color grayish green. Slowly suckes the life out of its host.

Scientific Name: Usnea trichodea Ach
Hm - I always called this stuff Ramalina menziesii - my understanding was that Usnea trichodea wasn't common/present in Sonoma County, but I could be wrong
These lichens aren't parasites the way some epiphytes are, so they don't suck anything out of the tree, but if they block too much light they might hurt the tree by competing for space to photosynthesize
