There were several huckleberry bushes around Ravenna and the berries were still a little tart.

Cotoneaster is in the rose family and has inferior ovaries/fruits, which is evident by seeing the calyx lobes at the distal end of the fruit. There are many species of Cotoneaster on the loose in the Puget Sound area; none are native.
