More Brood II cicada sightings. A bush outside of the Smoketown Station Panera in Woodbridge Virginia had about a half dozen cicadas.

A sizeable flock of Cedar Waxwings hit up my Mom's bird feeder in Occoquan, Virginia on February 19th
Off the Bull Run Occoquan Trail roughly 1/4 - 1/2 mile from the trailhead at Fountainhead Regional Park, there are pawpaw trees along the shore of a small creek. On September 24th, 2011, they were fruiting.
Some pawpaws were spotted above the the falls at Falls Ridge Preserve. No fruit was found and the leaves were already yellowing.
Found this redbelly watersnake on the horse trail near the airport and Maple Park
Boo! Just in time for Halloween, found this Ghost Flower, on a trail in Maple Park.
Ghost flowers don't have any chlorophyll-- they feed off fungus that feed off trees.
Plenty of pawpaw fruits could be found on the Supplejack Trail in the Dismal Swamp State Park.
I can also report that they were DELICIOUS!

Saw an alligator (and a painted turtle) sunning themselves on logs off of the yellow canoe trail in Merchant's Millpond State Park
A pair of bald eagles were circling above Merchant's Millpond State Park
Saw two Canadian geese nests while canoeing at Merchant's Millpond State Park-- one on top of a Beaver dam and one in an old bald cypress tree.
