Description

Bishop Pine Stand in Tomales Bay State Park. We were hoping to find some Boletus edulis... I think we were too early.

The stands of bishop pine were very dense and quite young (trunk diameter skinny).

We did see Chroogomphus vinicolor

Found this attractive spider on the outside of my trashcan.

Pretty fat so probably going to be a female. Colorful markings suggests that it is immature

Description

Perching on Cholla cacti. I saw a lot of these little mammals running across the road. Amazing that these guys could play in the cholla like a jungle gym.
