Anna's Hummingbird (Calypte anna)Observer

Hummingbird mama in our front yard gave birth to two babes. Just today the second to leave the nest learned to fly! He tested his chops floating above the nest a couple of inches at a time, rested, got a snack from mom, and took off to another branch! Both the babes seem healthy and are now flitting around their home-tree. Mama couldn't be prouder.
