Description

Small ladybeetle was observed when walking round the aperture park pond. The beetle was orange with 2 black spots (One on each wing). The beetle was only a couple millimeters long and had a similar width. The beetle was found in short grass scavenging close to the water.

Description

Small group of 4 mule deer were found traveling through the coulee behind kaiani House residency. The deer were young, maybe only a year or two old. Two of the deer were males. One male had tiny showings of antlers beginning to come in while another member had more defined single pronged antlers beginning to develop. focusing on the largest deer. The largest deer was believed to be a female because no signs of antlers could be observed. She was around 4-5 feet tall and a light brown color. The deer was around 5-6 feet in length with a white rear end and a black tip on the end of its tail. the animal was foraging through the grass and was later seen lying down in the thick grass making a bed for the night. all 4 deer stayed close together during the time observed.

Description

Green Butterfly seen skipping across the meadow behind the water building. Light green color was very close in contour to the grass habitat allowing the insect to be very well camouflaged when stationary. the Butterflies Wings were dotted with brown circles giving the appearance of wide set eyes. The insect had a wingspan of 1-2 inches and height of about 1 inch.

Description

A small deciduous scrub that was around half a meter tall and half a meter wide. The scrubs leaves were small and oval shaped. The leaves were around 2-4 cm in length and smooth around the edges. The scrub had a nice light brown park color.
