Found in a group with 3 other similar looking trees. Roughly 15 foot tall tree. Needles on the tree are long, stiff, pointed bluish green with a distinct aroma. Bark is thin, scaly and brown. The trunk is about 6 inches in diameter. The tree is evidently winter hardy as it is reluctant to change colour or overall appearance even in the winter months.

The branches demonstrate an alternating pattern that contain more branching at different, random angles as well as thorns on the branches themselves. Only one of the two like species found in the area.
