Russian Olive (Elaeagnus angustifolia)Observer
bio6kaliDate
Missing DateDescription
Pale bark with pale brown leaves. Branching pattern is alternate, and the bark itself is smooth in texture.
Leaves are about two centimetres in length and a centimetre across at the widest.
Branches tend to be long and slender, and the trunk isn't thick or bulky.
Unfortunately we have not been able to find an ID for this plant that seemed accurate, and none of the photos of plants in the area we had available to us seemed to match up with our observations.

Missing DateDescription
Dark red-brown buds with brown bark. Appeared to have an opposite branching pattern.
The tree itself has a thick trunk with coarse grey-brown bark. The branches themselves grow quite close together and appear almost tangled.
The buds themselves seem to match the description and photos provided of Populus deltoides buds, however the photos display green buds whereas these are more red, which has caused some identification issues.

Grey-brown bark with alternate buds. Buds are wrapped in such a way that they appear to have scales. Buds are red-brown in colour. The bark of this tree is smooth in texture.
The tree trunk is thick, but proportional to the rest of the tree.
The observations and description seems to match the ID Populus deltoides, however, the buds in our photos were red instead of green in the photos we were using as references.
