Really bizarre behavior. These chickens came out of the woods and walked over to us, and the hen flopped on its side with its wing out, I was actually concerned it might be ill or injured. They seemed to just wait around us, maybe they wanted food? The rooster grew more agitated and started making aggressive sounds, and we decided it was time for us to go to our car, and the chickens followed us and started charging us, including the hen, which clearly was healthy and doing just fine. We ran all the way to our car with these chickens on our heels, and once we got in the car, they milled around it. We carefully drove off trying not to run them over, and we saw them in our rearview mirror retreat back into the woods after a while, as mysteriously as they appeared.
