Huge (30mm) water beetle.

Black-headed Wagtail (Motacilla flava feldegg).
I found this wounded flightless beetle near the trail to Mehøe mountain. It was attacked by several large ants. You could see the cracks on the head and thorax.

It was looking like somebody painted the branch with starch glue and than covered it with down
