This creature tried to get through our 1" chicken wire to get to our vegetables. It got stuck, another creature ate its back half. It had a tail about 6" long. Long whiskers. This photo is the animal without its back hips, legs, and tail. Entire body was about 6"-7" long, not counting the tail.
