At 9:30am this morning Staff removed the pole that blocks vehicles from driving up to the education center; in the cement base there was, as usual, water a few inches deep and in it NOT AS USUAL, was a little tiger salamander -- about 3 inches long swimming around. We worried about smashing it when we replaced the pole so we took it to the pond and released it there. Hopefully he survives his abrupt waking into wintery weather
