Maple-like broadleaf tree with leaves in clusters of three, very similar habit to that of a Box Elder; the only compound-leaved tree in the maple family. Unique rough hickory/cedar-like bark

Description

Multiple Sitka Spruce trees present throughout forest. The trees were relatively tall so it was difficult to identify them form just their needles, which is why I used their cones as a confirming factor for ID.

This small plant, inside-out flower, dominates the ground floor of the McLane Creek area. A little hard to identify since the unique flowers were not in bloom, but the numerous leaves lead to a positive ID.
