Observations by cloudbridge_nature_reserve

The throat as well as the lower part of the belly show a buff coloration, buff-colored throat is edged by black, which borders clearly on the gray breast and upper belly, white supercilium and greenish crown; Found in secondary forest at about 1700 meters.

Ochre coloured underparts, obvious orange breast band, which borders clearly from gray head, brownish wings and tail, bill shows a bright blue colour with a black peak; Found in secondary forest close to the basecamp of the reserve at about 1500 meters.

Central black crown, which is surrounded by a blue band, black eye mask, rufous underparts, obvious long tail with a bare-shafted racket; Found in a garden tree close to the entrance of the reserve at about 1500 meters.

Speckled underparts, head, nape and back, ground color of belly and breast is white, head shows an actractive colour mixing of yellow and green, which turns into a shiny bright green on the nape, back and rump, green-colored flanks, blue-green cluster in the otherwise dark wings; Found in a garden tree close to the entrance of the reserve at about 1500 meters.

The upper-sides of the wings are dark brown, with yellow-orange bands crossing the FW and the edges of the HW, the under-sides of the wings are also brown, with some large eyes; found on a pasteur next to the reserve.

Moderate-sized species, tail moderately short (14 to 19% of total length); Bright green dorsum with vertical yellow bars, often bordered with black or bluish, light ventrolateral stripes, very narrow head; Found in secondary forest close to Rio Chirripo Pacifico at about 1500 meters.

Golden hood is distinctive, white belly, bright blue rump, flanks and scapulars, greenish specimen in the otherwise black-colored wings; Found on a tree near to the basecamp of the reserve at about 1500 meters.

Nearly identical to male Orange-bellied Trogon, but note the belly, which is deeply red in color. When calling, reveals the pinkish skin of the throat, which is otherwise covered by the dark green plumage; Found in old grown secondary forest at about 2000 meters.

Slightly starts to develop the distinctive rufous collar, but still shows streaked juvenile plumage on the breast, crest on its brown-and-buff head; Found in young reforestation area at about 1850 meters.

Striking facial pattern, males red crown directly meets yellow pattern, distinguish it from the female; Found on a tree trunk near to the ground in an open area close to the entrance of the reserve at about 1500 meters.

Dorsum shows one central white stripe, bordered by 2 black stripes, which are bordered by 2 red stripes, 4 conspicuous white patches, yellow hairs along the black- and white-striped sides of the body, as well as on the orange-colored head.

Spots on the elongate forewing upperside, orange on the broad hindwing upperside, the individual, which we found seems to be injured on the right hindwing; Found in old secondary forest at about 1900 meters.
