I'm guessing this might be Pseudocolus fusiformis, but am unsure. It appeared to be growing (almost horizontally) out of the side of a mound of earth covered in leaf litter and ferns (perhaps there was dead wood underneath, but I didn't see any, should have paid closer attention). I didn't notice any scent.
