In an artificial habitat
Found in an artificial habitat. Three glass eels
A midden right at the edge of the river. Most likely eaten by a muskrat?
Under rocks during a very low tide. When I took the picture, I could only see little black crabs. Zoomed in at home I think they are invasive asian shore crabs ( only one in the pic, but many were under that rock)?
I can only guess that it was a mink. It popped out near the edge of the river and ran along the bank and into some rocks. It had a gait like no animal I have ever seen in the area. Another person who saw it said it looked like a weasel but it was almost entirely dark brown, black even, and the descriptions I have found pint to mink. Any thoughts? Mink in the Bronx? The habitat in that area seems appropriate.
WHile removing a blockage from the river, Josue caught this
Exiting its cocoon
At base of a red oak.
Eating our tomato plants. What is it and are those eggs on its back?
About 2 inches across.
This bird chased the smaller birds away.
Not more than two inches in length
