In the hill above Lake Avenue, in Altadena, California, at the top to the side of the trail, a dry hillside, a patch of pink, mauve, burgundy, very exotic looking, lily like flowers, purportedly, possibly a rare wildflower: Calochortus / Mariposa lily, one of our CA native bulbs. Maybe Plummer's m l (cal. plummerae)?
