Common Swallowtails (Genus Papilio)Observer
ekellerDescription
A few weeks ago I found a chrysalis on my garage, brought it into my studio and kept it safe for about 7 weeks. Tonight I came into the studio to find the butterfly newly emerged, in the process of unfolding its wings. I plan to release it in the morning, hopefully it will survive the night, the studio is nice and warm and dry. I believe it is a Western Tiger Swallowtail.
Sadly I don't think the butterfly will survive, wings are badly deformed. Probably my fault:(
