Description

This sword fern was found next to a building. Only one was found in the area. About 2 feet wide and 1 foot tall. Has very sharp leaves. And most of the leaves on the fern appear to be alive.

Found in the dirt ground. Has a heart shape in the top and bottom of the bone. Has a crack through the bone. Is smooth through out the whole bone. Only one of the similar bone was found in the area. Is a white color.

2 compound eyes, 4 legs, 2 arms. Is a yellowish color. Is about 3 inches tall from head to wings. Only one of this color of prey mantis was found in the area.
Appear to have four wings.

This mole was found dead on the trail during our hike down grouse hill. Only one of this mole was found dead on the trail. Is a dark grey color. Is very fuzzy. Is about 7 inches wide.

This Mazanita tree has green leaves and a red bark. All the leaves on the tree appear to be facing upward towards the sun. Two of the same tree were found in the same location. The Mazanita tree appear to be about 7 ft tall.

Description

This fungus was found on a fallen branch. There were about 4 to 5 of the fungus on the branch. The fungus is a light brown color with darker brown colored rings around it. The biggest fungus was about one inch wide.

This banana slug was found on the trail while we were hiking. It was about 5 inches long, then appeared to get smaller. This slug was a pale yellowish color. Three of the same slug were found near each other.

The butterfly was flying when it landed on the milkweed next to a white flower and a bee. Only one of that kind of butterfly was found in the area. It was about an inch and a half wide.
