i found this guy caught up in the barbed wire fence. I've never seen a great horned owl this close. he let me get him loose and he hung around for a bit next to me and let me give him some water. i sat in the truck for over an hour waiting to hear back from the game warden's office. when i went to check on him, he was gone. i don't know if he took off walking or was able to fly after he got a little strength back, but no sign of him anywhere.
