I'm not sure what this one is either but they were all over. Groundsel maybe or Oregon Sunshine?

They were everywhere.
This was on the drive back from John Day Fossil Beds. Not a great pic but they looked so out of place in that arid part of Oregon I had to record it.
By far, the most numerous of the butterflies trying to drink the yard dry on this late July afternoon.
These guys and several of their mimics were practically rioting in my mother's back yard.
I don't know how long I chased this guy around the butterfly bush before I got even this less than stellar shot. But I think its enough to call it diffinis.
Tentatively IDed as Microthopala vittata on BugGuide but I'm not certain. This individual certainly wasn't on goldenrod.
I'm horrible with skippers. Any idea on a species?
