Fort Belvoir's has a very large population of Osprey because of its location next to the Potomac River. At qany one time I have seen 3 sets of birds flying and hunting.

Lunch time walk resulted in seeing a fisherman catch a Crappie in a basin that feeds into the Potomac River.

Big surprise on Ft. Belvoir on my bike commute through the post. A BIG Tom, with at least a 10-12" beard.

Almost every morning on the way to the train station I pass a rabbit or two in the neighborhood.

4' long, unknown species "black" snake

A unknown species "hawk" dove into the ditch line as we drove past. Did not see if it came up with prey.

Unknown species of Sparrow.

Catfishing on the James and Appomattox River, VA. 37 pounds.

Flock of 4 birds including the big Tom from last week. Two were small bodies and I guess were hens. The 4th might have been a young Jake.
