I'm not sure of the exact identification. I was thinking Mississippi Kite or Cooper's Hawk.

This was hanging out in the same area as the Monk Parakeet Colony. I've looked on the internet.

ghardymDescription
I saw this bird hanging out on the structure where the Monk Parakeet colony is. I don't think it is a cultivated monk but I can't quite identify the type of hawk it would be. I thought Cooper's at first but I think it is immature.

We first saw this on Saturday morning. It was overcast so we weren't quite sure what type of bird was there. I took some pictures. When I downloaded the pictures from my camera I realized there was something there but was not familiar with the nest. I had seen the Monks at White Rock Lake on numerous occasions but had never observed their nest. The rain Saturday night knocked down part of the nest so on Sunday there was quite a commotion as they were working on the repair. I also noticed there was an additional nest under construction on the adjacent tower.
