I could not get close enough to get a proper identification, but they were gathered in the pilings by the ferry dock.
this is just the shell, but they are scattered all over the beach. This one also had a hole drilled through it. Evidence of a moon snail?

I believe this to be a kind of kelp, but I have never seen it before. It's caught on a piece of drift wood and those are sacks of air hanging down from the stem.
growing underneath pine trees. This one I am unsure about because the cap is a very light color but it has an orange tint to it, and there have been observations of white ones before.
