R.xerampeline, the shrimp mushroom. 15cm cap with down turned margin. Found in forest duff pushing up from under a dead Fir. Strong scent of shellfish. Pink hue on large brittle stipe, approx 12-15cm. Spore print inconclusive as yet.

Shaggy mane found growing under Maple from compacted soil of driveway. 12cm brittle stipe. Beginning decomposition phase, margin of cap already black but not yet inky. Buggy. Choice edible when found in earlier fruiting stages.

Yellow Stainer (Agaricus xanthodermus)Observer

Large whitish-beige cap approx 6-8cm wide growing from grass under Fir. Stipe curved slightly at bottom, yellowing at base. Remnants of veil in a skirt-like ring. Once cut all parts dull yellow. Smells strongly phenolic. Spore print deep brown. Not edible; causes sweating, nausea, and severe GI distress.

Massive Boletes, growing from (mulched) woodland. Singular and in groups of up to 8. Largest cap 30cm wide. All parts immediately stain blue when cut/bruised. Cap surface velvety and soft, not slimy. Spore print inconclusive as yet.
