Looks like a damselfly, but the shape of the wings is more rounded and dark in color. It was observed above a creek. In the fourth image it appears to be laying eggs on a leaf above the stream.
This one was on the rocks when I passed by and slid into the stream when I came closer. About 3 inches long.
Due to the rust colored markings above the legs, I suspected this may be a rusty crayfish, but it doesn't seem to be in the right area for that. Not sure how to ID them.
Known locally as "poison parsnip" - a highly toxic plant.
A weed with spikes on its fruit. Please identify it for me. The spikey ball is about 1/2 inch diameter, and the plant is knee high.
