This was bad...on road within Satwiwa on way to parking lot. I see racers often but they are so fast that I never am able to take pic. I will still take a pic of a dead one since it might be helpful somehow.

This was on beginning of Guadalasca trail...I was going up and saw him. He must have been run over by mountain biker. They are usually so fast-I don't even bother trying to take their pictures. I added the glove for scale.

Middle of fire road...I rose my bike right by it wham it was full length and by the time I turned around for a pic it had curled up. I shoo'd it off road with a very long stick.

Found late in afternoon--almost dark on main trail towards the Narrows. It was clearly on its way somewhere. Identifying its formal name would be nice. Update: I changed ID to Great Basin Rattlesnake...from the description, this one seems like an older specimen.

This was found near Queen's Garden...someone killed it. Really not sure why there are not more signs around telling people not to disturb wildlife including reptiles. Probably would not have kept whoever did this from killing the snake but it might have prompted anyone who might have seen this happen to report that person. I was really disappointed to see this beautiful snake dead in such a well traveled area...still, I would be interested in what the snake's formal name was.

Day/week is approximate. This was on the bank of Bright Angel Creek in the middle of day. Not sure what formal name is...looks like type of garter snake or possible a racer. Update: At suggestions, have changed ID to Desert Striped Whip Snake.
