Found at approximately 7:20am. Flew into view while observing a Lucy's warbler. Shape of beak was the first field mark identified. Buffy brown in overall color. Had a patch of blue on wing. Appeared to be a female nearing breeding plumage.

Found near pond at Zzyzx Desert Study Center near the solar panels. Has been heard singing for consecutive mornings. Difficult to spot at first due to it remaining hidden in the interior of scrubs. But perched on top of a plant where it was easily identifiable. Bird was relatively shy. Had a reddish chestnut cap.

Found at approximately 7:50am moving along the pond at Zzyzx Desert Study Center near the abandoned wooden boat. Tail was raised and spread revealing black and yellow coloration. Golden-orange to yellow under the wing. White on breast and belly. Yellow wing bar. Field marks and behavior suggests this individual was a young male in its first spring.
