These flowers were observed on the incline from the bottom of the Eaton Canyon trail to the top at Henninger Flats.
I believe it's some sort of Penstamon. Some research shows that it's the "Showy Penstemon," but I am unsure. Can anybody confirm this?

There's a butterfly on this mugwort. Observed in the morning during clear skies and sunny weather, on the Upper Winter Creek Trail in Chantry Flats. If you look at the leaf on the upper right, you can see that more characteristic three-sectioned-leaf of Mugwort. It is not so apparent in the other leaves of this photo.

These leaves were on the ground in a very shaded area. There were many spider webs all around, and some fungus on dead leaves and logs. The trees canopy over the area, and the fallen leaves collect in an area that seems to be full of insects and decomposers.

I found many of these beautiful little plants along the Upper Winter Creek Trail at Chantry Flats. They thrived well, and the flowers were in beautiful condition. They grew sparsely, and were found more in the sunny areas.
