North American River Otter (Lontra canadensis)Observer
kieranDescription
Didn't get a good picture. Was able to watch it dive and followed it a bit in my boat as it swam. Every time it dove its rounded tail was seen, allowing us to distinguish it from a beaver. Its head was also the right shape for an otter. It swam with only its head above water. Length was roughly 2/3 of a meter. Images show its head sticking out of the water and the wake it left as it swam.
